Hindus and Buddhists have known that there is a difference between the brain and [the] mind. (To be most accurate the article "the" should be left off). In all explanations, it is easy to understand that "the brain" is limited to the organic matter within the skull and the mind is at the most reductionistic explanations is beyond that. However, that is to reductionistic to the point of not being really accurate. So here is a shot at an analogy to give you the best intuitive understanding of "mind."
It's all [the] water.
Again, the article "the" would make statement more accurate and some of you reading this may already get it, Hopefully it will make more sense as you assimilate this analogy.
For now let's say your brain is a bucket and the water in that bucket is [your] mind. Linguistically we say it is yours because it is in your bucket. Another bucket is someone else's brain and the water in it is [their] brain. We'll move away from individual/ego descriptors soon, but for now let's keep the possessives for explanatory purposes

So we have two buckets each filled with water: your water(mind) in your bucket (brain) and their water (mind) in their bucket (brain). Now, lets put each bucket in a swimming pool of completely still water so that the same water that was always in your bucket is still in your bucket; while the same water that was in the other person's bucket is still in their bucket.
Remember All Water is Mind. So the water/mind in your bucket/brain is still your water/mind by virtue of it's location of still being in your brain/bucket and the water/mind in the other person's bucket/brain is still your water/mind by virtue of it's location of still being in their brain/bucket. Yet, the separation becomes ambiguous. From the perspective of looking into the pool of water from above the pool, it is just one body of water, the same water between the buckets that is in the buckets, no difference: no ego/individuality.
Let's call the water in the buckets the "local mind/conscious" because it is local to their or your bucket. Let's call ALL the water in and out of the buckets the "shared, or non-local, or non-dual mind/conscious, because we all have access to it. Although some of us haven't figure out how to do that. We are all part of that whole
Why is this important?
In the context of remote healing, entanglement, telepathy DMILS (Direct Mental Interface in Living Systems) and even in remote viewing, understanding this takes us away from the "mental radio" or transmission model. No need to reach out to someone or someplace. We (everything) is already connected, already entangled through the non-local mind. You need only to find "the other" in yourself, to become aware of what is within the [your] mind. Ancient Buddhists called the Naked Awareness.
